Letter 1 (2019-20)

Dear Parents,
It was nice to see all of you last Thursday for Parent Orientation.  I hope that the information that I had given to you was helpful.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to come to talk to me.  Please take note that our Nursery blog website address is https://charter-nursery.blogspot.com/ .  You can access our class blog through this web address rather than going to the school’s website.
Our first week went by very smoothly. As there are many familiar faces in our class from last year, most of us already knew the place, and so it took a very short time to settle back into the classroom. Of course, on the first day back some of us looked a bit nervous, but by the second day there were smiles on our faces again. Together we have been exploring the classroom and the different learning centres. Some of us preferred to explore every centre and every material in the classroom, while others preferred to take time exploring only a few activities per day.  On this first week, we have also been adjusting to the class rules and routines. We learned that there are certain rules that we need to follow.  You can help reinforce certain rules at home such as to help tidy up the toys or materials, to wipe our noses with a tissue, to cough and sneeze into our elbows, and not to pull any items from anybody’s hands. During the week we also painted our photo albums, and art portfolios. Please send in photos of your child doing different activities with family members either at home or in other places.  Photos really help the children to feel secure and also creates lots of conversation throughout the school year.
This week we will talk about “My Family and “Things I like.  For Show and Tell, please let your child bring

-      A family photo (one that can be glued on to our art work)
-      My favourite thing (such as a toy, book or a soft animal, NO GUNS)

                                                                                                  Warm Regards,

                                                                                        Ms. Marizon
