Letter 6 (2019-20)

Dear Parents,

Last week we continued to talk about clothes that are used for different kinds of weather. Thank you for sending in some items that we could look at, show our friends and try on.  Every day we tried on different accessories such as sun hats, sun glasses and flip-flops. In the art centre we made these accessories. When talking about sunglasses, we tried on glasses with and without lenses and discovered that the dark lenses helped to protect our eyes from the glare from the sun. We then used our eyes to look through different coloured plastic sheets and we saw the world in different colours. When talking about hats, we went outside to the playground and experimented putting on and taking off our hats under the hot sun. We noticed that when we had our hats on we did not feel as hot as when we took it off. We also talked about keeping cool on a hot day by using fans to cool ourselves. We looked at different kinds of fans such as an electric fan, a hand screen fan, and a hand pressing hand held fan. We certainly felt curious to see the fan work and stop every time we released our hands from the button.  Another way to keep cool on a hot day is to drink lots of water and eat something cold like ice-cream.  Therefore, in Cooking we made mango pudding. After it was set in the fridge we ate some for snack and found it to be very cooling. We certainly had lots of fun making it especially when we mashed the mango in the blender. It was so loud that some of us quickly covered our ears!

This Week

We will be talking about clothes and accessories used on a rainy day.  Please let your child bring in items used on a rainy day such as an umbrella, raincoat and boots to show their friends. On Thursday 3rd October please arrive at school by 8 o’clock for the whole school photo shooting.

This will be the last class letter which will be published on the Nursery class blog.  From next week, our class letter will be published on the parent portal.

                                                                                                  Warm Regards,

                                                                                                   Ms. Marizon
